Are Heavenly supernatural encounters real? In response to this question, let me quote James W. Goll, “God encounters are for today and God encounters are for everyone.”
Today, more than ever before, we need to know the truth that God longs to encounter each of us in a very personal way. Without this personal experience we often lack the inspiration, motivation, and boldness needed to engage in, or even believe, that we have a unique role in the expansion of the Kingdom of God on earth.
What is a God-encounter? Let’s demystify the word ‘encounter’ beginning with its definition. An encounter is: a meeting, especially one that is unplanned, unexpected, or brief.[1] It can mean to come upon face-to-face. The Bible has hundreds of examples of God encounters! Let’s consider just a few examples…Mary, a teenage girl (Luke 1:35); Matthew, a tax collector (Matthew 9:9); Noah, a farmer (Genesis 9:20); Anna, an 84-year-old widow; Daniel, a man in captivity (Daniel 1:3, 6); Joseph, a hated member of his own family (Genesis 37:5); an unnamed paralytic man (Mark 2:4); Nicodemus, a highly respected religious leader (John 3:1).
To name just a few modern-day people who have encountered God and then moved forward to engage in and expand the Kingdom of God here on earth, consider: Billy Graham, Bill Johnson, Jane Hamon, Michael Koulianos, Ana Werner, and so many more! Including our Summit guest ministers, David Dodd, James & June Ford, Steve and Zury Bradcovich, and ourselves (Tony and Irene Fournier)!
God encounters are for everyone, and they are for today!
Maybe you’ve long ago decided you are unworthy or unqualified to have holy supernatural encounters when, through the blood of Jesus Christ shed for us, the exact opposite is true! The Bible assures us many times over that we now “…. may have fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.” The blood has made the way open for us! (I John 1:3, 7).
This “fellowship” includes partnership, participation, and intimacy. Our God is not distant and inaccessible. In truth, He is near us always! (Hebrews 13:5). We are told to draw near to Him and He will draw near to us. (James 4:8).
Could the answer to our hesitation or fear of God-encounters simply be that they have not been made personal and real to us? Maybe some obstacle is blocking our hope and expectation of ever having this type of fellowship with God. Or maybe we’ve had God-encounters in the past but then ‘life happened’ and we got discouraged or distracted, losing focus, losing heart, and losing our willingness to pursue after God!
This 2023 Kingdom Vision Center Empowerment Summit is an opportunity for you to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you, too, can encounter God!
Please join us this October 6th and 7th and allow the teaching of God’s Word and His Presence in worship and prayer to set the atmosphere for your encounter with God! He longs to meet with you!
